Each experience offers rich and layered experiences with traditional art media, natural materials, and innovative digital and STEAM media that are designed to support all children’s interests and capacities.
Cultural + Environmental Sustainability
We prioritize the use of sustainable, environmentally-friendly, and re-use materials in our experiences. We believe that every family, regardless of their race, skin color, ethnicity, gender identity, age, nationality, language, class, economic status, ability, level of education, sexual orientation, and religion wants the best for their children and we strive to provide that in the most inclusive environment.
Children’s Interests
Our experiences are designed to support the interests that children bring to the program as well as those that emerge as we work together. We see children as strong, competent, full of resources, deeply connected to the world around them, and the constructor and co-constructor of knowledge and understanding.
Inclusive Teaching
Experiences in SQUAD are inclusive and attend to diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility in both content and teaching methods. All experiences feature connections to contemporary art and artists, regional artists, and diverse children’s literature.
